Australia celebrates nine Green Flag Awards for 2024-25
Xyst is proud to announce that nine significant parks have been awarded the Green Flag Award in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Karl Nesbit – Xyst Green Flag Ambassador in Australia said:

It showcases the dedication, expertise, and technical skill of the operations team working tirelessly to provide environments that cater to the well-being of the community. This accolade emphasises the value of well-maintained parks and their crucial contribution to enhancing the quality of life for all who enjoy them.”
The winners of the 2024/25 Green Flag Award are:
- Chinchilla Botanic Parklands – Western Downs Regional Council (QLD)
- Kings Beach Park and Community Precinct – Sunshine Coast Council (QLD)
- Buderim Village Park – Sunshine Coast Council (QLD)
- Queens Park – Toowoomba Regional Council (QLD)
- Roma Street Parklands – City Parklands (QLD)
- Queen Elizabeth II Park – Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council (NSW)
- Queanbeyan Park – Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council (NSW)
- Lillydale Lake – Yarra Ranges Council (VIC)
- Lochiel Park – Campbelltown City of Council (SA)
Xyst is excited to welcome first-time winners, Lillydale Lake in Yarra Ranges, Victoria and Queens Park in Toowoomba, Queensland to the Green Flag Award.

“This is due recognition of years of work, of dedication and the great effort that our parks team do.”
Brisbane City Council and City Parklands Services Pty Ltd are to be congratulated for Roma Street Parkland’s award. This park has achieved the Green Flag standard consistently for the past 11 years – the most Green Flag Awards in Australia!
Western Downs Regional Council is also to be congratulated for their award-winning Chinchilla Botanic Parkland.

“Green Flag compliments The Yardstick Parks Benchmarks project https://yardstick.global as the Green Flag provides the outward recognition that the park is operating and being managed to a standard which has been assessed by our peers to be appropriate when measured against internationally determined criteria.
Green Flag provides a means for Civic/ Political recognition complimented by Yardstick Parks Benchmarks which provided the behind-the-scenes confirmation that our parks operators are striving for best practice across the wider parks network.
The Green Flag Award is an opportunity to celebrate that awarded parks and their assets are a credit to the community and all those involved in providing funding, planning and operational maintenance to enable a high standard quality park to be provided to the community.”
