Xyst worked closely with mana whenua to understand their aspirations and ensure these were in alignment with Waka Kotahi’s parameters.
Xyst supported the artist and ensured tikanga processes were followed throughout the duration of the project. We worked closely with mana whenua to understand the significance of the site and meaning of the sculpture. We project managed an interpretation signage board and seat to support the amenity of the sculpture.
Liaising with contractors, the installation was completed on time in alignment with the unveiling date.
Xyst worked with Waka Kotahi and Ngāti Pārau to organise an unveiling at dawn.
